O Brother, Where Art Thou?

George Clooney, John Turturro, and Tim Blake Nelson play the parts of Evertt, Pete and Delmar three friends who are fugitives that escape from prison and there journey. Everett the head of the group fools the guys by telling them that they are heading to recovered a buried treasure, which later we find out that there is no treasure, and that he just want to go back to his wife and 7 children before she marries again and losses her for good. When this movie first came out in the theaters it never really caught my eye, because its not my type of movie, but now that I so it. I was taught a lesson to never jugde something with out first giving it a try. In a funny way they have powerful themes like religion, racism, and change. Pete and Delmar both really believe in religion and when they were Baptist they believe that they were reborn again. We also have racisim where the sence of the Ku Klux Klan capture a men of color and try to burn him alive. It's a very good movie that i have to watch again.

My Favorite Movie

Stigmata a 1999 film is one of my favorite movies, it's with Patricia Arquette and Gabriel Byrne. It's about a normal girl who all of a sudden her body relives one by one the wounds Jesus suffered when he was crucified. It make you think and question what you believe in, because it makes sense what they state. I'm never really been a church person, going to church every sun and all to be honest. Example; in the bible Jesus saids that his everywhere and when one want to talk to him you only have to pray and he will be there listening, but at the church they say you have to come inside these building to get to him; that just doesn't make sense. Also the hole pope issue where they abuse of children, that seem to have been happening for years now and it didn't come out because it's been hided which is messed up. Because society have change dramatically this has finally come out in the open, and because of that same reason churches have change there form. It seems to be a business where they are fighting to get people attention. To conclude this movie just has open my eyes.

Pledging Allegiance

That picture give me a mix of emotions, because I'm going throw that process of becoming a citizen. When that day comes where I have to pledge and it's officially that am a U.S Citizen, it would be unbelievable. It's an undescribe feeling of knowing you are finally safe in this country and have no worries of being deported. One can breed at ease, becoming a citizen to me give me more oportunities to study and become someone. Giving my parents a better life, making them feel proud of me cause all they want is for me to suceed in life cause all they can give me is that. Holding that flag in my hand is getting closer and closer then ever. Crosses fingers.

Research Project

I have a topic in mind where I mite choose to do my research project I'm thinking on Religion, but not sure yet what exactly am going to do it on because it's a very controversial subject which has a lot of fields to choose from. My all time favorite movie Stigmata which is about a young woman is affected by mysterious wounds called Stigmata which are the wounds Christ received when they crucified him. Maybe comparing it to The Passion of Christ where they react that scene mite be an option. Or another subject could be on the battle between good and evil, in The Omen we see how evil win a battle to the good. Life in itself represent that, where day after day between the people living in this earth battle wiht each other. Maybe researching on this two idea i mite come to a conclusion which one to write on.

Hookups Starve the Soul

Laura Vanderkam essay on hookups is really something we are going throw right now where we see it in university, and with just everyone comming out of high. We can read clearly how she against it, how it just a physical connection between a guy and girl that only last one night. It seems that the the environment we are in now makes us have no time to have relationships, she states that this is killing us inside because the part we build with another human being are being missing out. The bond and feelings we have are overlooked cause we are taking it as just something that we look for when we need it.

Lou Jacobs Jr.

What Qualities Does a Good Photograph Have?

Lou Jacobs Jr talks about what photographers think when taking a picture but explain what they should notice when taking one so it can bring out more meaning. Taking a picture seem like nothing but could say more then words. A picture is a moment in life saved in on simple sheet that one can remember the rest of there lives. It's an art to me to capture something that everyone can relate to. To me taking a picture of a bear could mean the world to me while to others just ridiculous. He also states that taking a picture doesn't have to be plan out ahead of time in a bright day, the best picture have be taken without a notice under the rain, running around, and even in a store. What he said we should have in mind when seeing or taking a picture is the impact that moment will being out, human interest if people are involve the emotion , action he or she has is very important. Effective composition, spontaneity, lighting cause a dark day can represent sadness, destruction etc. Color, contrast, camera angle and choice of Lens, as well as imagination and creativity. Most of this thing make more sense to professional photographers then to normal people but this just said to me that taking a picture is more then just a click on the camera.
